Passkey क्या है और यह कैसे काम करती है?
Passkey एक passwordless login system है, जो FIDO (Fast Identity Online) standard पर आधारित है.
Simple शब्दों में:
- कोई password type नहीं करना
- आपका device ही आपकी पहचान बन जाता है
- Login होता है fingerprint, Face ID या device PIN से
Technically, passkey में:
- Private key आपके device पर रहती है
- Public key server के पास
- Phishing attacks लगभग impossible हो जाते हैं

Microsoft नए users को password के बिना account create करने दे रहा है.
Global Adoption तेज़ है
Globally, passkey adoption fast हो रहा है क्योंकि:
- Personal devices common हैं
- Cloud backups enabled हैं
- Multi-device sync normal है
US और Europe में:
- One user = one phone
- Lost device = cloud recovery possible
लेकिन India की reality अलग है।
India Problem: Phone Sharing Culture
भारत में phone अक्सर personal नहीं, family device होता है.
एक ही phone:
- पति-पत्नी
- बच्चे
- कभी-कभी parents भी
Passkey device से tightly जुड़ी होती है.
ऐसे में सवाल उठता है:
- किसकी fingerprint?
- किसका Face ID?

- Stable internet
Reality:

- Cross-platform switching common है

So, Should Indians Use Passkeys Today?
Answer है: Yes, but selectively.
अगर आप:
- Phone अकेले use करते हैं
- Cloud backup properly enabled है
- Tech-comfortable हैं
तो Gmail, Google Account, Microsoft Account में passkey add करना smart move है.
लेकिन अगर:
- Phone shared है
- Backup habits weak हैं
- Recovery process unclear है
तो अभी:
- Strong passwords
- Password manager apps (जैसे 1Password, Bitwarden)
ज़्यादा practical हैं।
Why This Shift Still Matters
Passwords खत्म हो रहे हैं—slowly, but surely.
Passkeys future हैं—but India-ready future नहीं, yet.
भारत में यह बदलाव सिर्फ login security का नहीं है।
यह इस बात का सवाल है कि digital access किसके हाथ में है — और अगर access चला जाए, तो recovery किसके पास है।
Tech companies recovery systems improve कर रही हैं,
लेकिन तब तक users को informed choices लेनी होंगी।
